Korean falls in drugs bust in La Union

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday said its operatives and the local police arrested a Korean during a buy-bust operation in La Union.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Sangsu Kim, 20,  a resident of Barangay San Francisco, San Fernando City.

Cacdac said PDEA operatives arrested the foreigner after selling dried marijuana leaves to a poseur buyer in Barangay Pagudpud, San Fernando City last Monday at around 4:00 p.m.

When frisked, Kim yielded a rolled paper containing marijuana, a mobile phone and the P1,000 marked bill used during the buy bust.

Kim will be charged with violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
