Grenade goes off in police lecture; 6 hurt

MANILA, Philippines –  A police trainer and five others were injured after a grenade accidentally exploded during a lecture on explosives in Cagayan de Oro City Thursday morning, reports said.

The lecturer, SPO3 Cris Cadelina, according to reports reaching Camp Crame, was making a demonstration on the grenade when he accidentally pulled out its safety pin.

Aside from Cadelina, those injured were his assistant, PO3 Raul Valmona, and police trainees Richard Narciso, Loly Ansin, Loretes May Roble, and Jaymar Palanas.

The victims were rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center for treatment.
