Christmas on the rocks
MANILA, Philippines - On Monday karaoke night, a Japanese man took to the stage and bravely sang Bono’s Do They Know It’s Christmas?, which is all over the news again after Band Aid 30’s version was recently launched (and because the U2 frontman is still recovering from a cycling accident). “This is how we all should be singing karaoke,” a friend noted. Tha man was off key, his voice was too loud, and he didn’t care. We cheered him on.
Why can’t Christmas be “rock ‘n’ roll”? Okay, no one thinks it’s a cheesy, unnecessary holiday, like Valentine’s Day, but it could be a little cooler.
In the area of makeup, Smashbox veers from classic holiday colors — holly red, pine green, Olaf white — with a Christmas collection that’s as rock ‘n’ roll as it gets. “On the Rocks” is an exercise in bling that doesn’t get prissy or over-the-top. “The holidays are my favorite beauty moment — it’s a time to break the rules! This season, I’m totally obsessed with rich, shimmering looks accented with jewel tones straight from the studio set. Luxurious and eye-catching, these looks translate effortlessly into holiday party glam,” said Lori Taylor Davis, Smashbox Global pro lead artist.
