Picture this: The last decade of YStyle

MANILA, Philippines - The names Sara Black, Jo Ann Bitagcol, Jake Verzosa, Juan Caguicla and Steve Tirona may be revered names in the industry now, but 10 years ago, they were just  little-known photographers who were trying to make names for themselves. At the time,YStyle was just starting out and we were fortunate enough that these people were willing to experiment with alternative concepts and participate in shoots that weren’t necessarily legal, because permits may or may not have been secured by the editors at the time. There was nothing like YStyle back then and we’d like to give them a huge chunk of the credit for whatever our section has come to be known for today.

Here, we wax nostalgic by publishing a mix of early works, when their talent was a little more raw and our shoots were more off-the-cuff, along with some recent ones from the younger ‘uns. They may be huge now, but never forget: You saw them here first.
