French chic  at Fete de Beauté

CIRCUIT TRAINING - JR Isaac -

It was an afternoon of beauty and technology fusion as Samsung and Lancome gave Manila’s beauty experts a glimpse of Samsung’s latest jewel: a slim slide-up phone with a polished mirror-surface finish that reflects the different faces of beauty. The Samsung SGH-E840 handset is a perfect match for Lancôme, which presents beauty as an experience. Its brand heritage is rooted in innovation and expertise and the legendary “French touch” — characterized by grace, elegance, natural chic, sophistication, inventiveness, femininity, all perfect adjectives to describe what beauty is all about.

With the Rockwell Glass House as its stage, the brand showcased its stylish expertise in a new and original concept by literally dressing it up as a “house of beauty.” The loft was transformed into a chic French apartment that is every beauty junkie’s dream! In this one-stop beauty playground, guests were treated to a head-turning trend watch on makeup from Lancôme’s Gela Laurel who showed the latest color styles and trends for the coming holiday collections. There were also skin treatment and analysis sessions with customized skincare products for different skin quality; guests learned about and tested the brand’s skincare, makeup and fragrance products.

Lancôme’s stylish afternoon of beauty perfectly combined high-tech phones with high-tech cosmetics and services all in celeb-ration and pursuit of beauty! And it was also a visual treat as the ladies came in their en-sembles, with yellow and mustard as the dominant color reflecting “French Chic,” as stated in the invitation.

Peewee Reyes

Peewee wears a dress from H&M Hong Kong. She thinks the ribbon detail and pleats are feminine, which is why she wore tights and boots. She wanted to wear a beret but thought it would be too much. Peewee’s inspiration is just to make a dress less girly and prissy with tights and boots.

Zerline Chan

Zerl wears a white linen dress from Forever 21 accessorized with vintage gold chains from her mother. She presents a fresh take on the French look: more spring-like and suited to an afternoon event than the usual black route. The makeup is also nude and pink, but with red lips to give it a punch.

Pam Quiñones

Pam wears a black H&M Victorian dress, Zara bondage shoes, H&M socks and an LV speedy Damier bag, inspired by a mix of fall/winter looks from Prada and Chloe.

Ichi Apostol

Ichi says when it comes to French chic, black comes first to mind, and since it’s a daytime event, she decided to wear something short and printed. The dress is heaven-sent, she proudly declares, since it’s fabulous yet comfortable — and, best of all, it’s a department store find.

Bea Constantino

Bea wears a skirt from Zara LA and the rest is from an outlet that closed four years ago. She wanted something light and classic since, lately, she has been watching classic films. Her inspiration is film noir. Bea wants to go back to basics, especially since everyone wears colors and patterns, which she says is now “saturated” from all the madness.

Agoo Bengzon

Agoo was just aiming for being chic, never mind the French part. She was excited about the dress and the tights her husband Andy bought. He picked them both out from H&M when he was in Geneva for work recently.

Kat Dy

Kat needed to go to three events so she wanted to be comfortable, which is why a tunic dress was an easy pick – with no need to worry about bulges. She paired the dress with boots for a chic combination. The dress is from NafNaf and the boots from H&M — both bought in Paris, which makes it “French chic.”

Vicky Tensuan

Vicky’s top is tailor-made while the pants are from Topshop. Her inspiration is the 1940s.

Bianca Salonga

Bianca wears a gold turtleneck minidress, one of her impulse purchases from a trip to Kuala Lumpur. Her idea is to look effortlessly streamlined and polished.
