Stars celebrate 100 years of the Coca-Cola bottle

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - It was a full house at the Bonifacio High Street Central Amphitheater last Oct. 3, Saturday, as Coca-Cola celebrated a century of its signature contour bottle through the “Coca-Cola Bottle Art Tour: Inspiring Pop Culture for 100 Years.”

The multi-sensory exhibit, which has been traveling key cities around the world, featured works of contemporary artists like Andy Warhol, Norman Rockwell, and Peter Blake.

But the masterpieces of Filipino artists, photographers and influencers featuring the iconic bottle were also showcased in the exhibit. Designers, models, celebrities and other personalities designed their own contour bottles while top photographers Mark Nicdao, Doc Marlon Pecjo, Xander Angeles, Ronnie Salvacion, Shaira Luna and Jake Verzosa each submitted their interpretation of the Coke bottle through creative portraits.

All these local masterpieces were auctioned off during the gala night. Proceeds from this silent auction will be used to provide drinking fountains for Little Red Schoolhouse elementary schools across the Philippines.

The Coca-Cola Bottle Art Tour gala night was led by Coca-Cola Philippines president and general manager Diego Granizo and The Coca-Cola Company director of heritage communications Ted Ryan. Also present were Coca-Cola ambassadors Enchong Dee, Joseph Marco, Janella Salvador, Jerome Ponce and Diego Loyzaga.
