Absolutely for Dad

The Absolut Company launched its newest vodka, Absolut Elyx. Absolut Elyx boasts a distinct and pure taste rooted in its manual distillation via a hand-operated vintage copper column dating back to 1929. This handcrafted approach paved the way for a new vision of vodka making. The copper elements find their way to the bottle design, a robust silhouette with copper highlights.

Absolut Elyx offers a natural and unadulterated taste, which avid vodka drinkers crave for. Absolut Elyx has a long-lasting smooth finish with a touch of spiciness, and hints of floral and fruity tones. From neat or on the rocks, to cocktails or martinis, the splendid taste and remarkable texture will only leave you asking for more.

Elyx is derived from Elixir, which means “magic formula.” It is comparable to the intricate distillation process that has been practiced for centuries. Absolut Elyx’s distinct production, natural ingredients, texture and flavor set it apart from all other vodkas. Absolut Elyx is exclusively imported and marketed by Pernod Ricard Philippines, Inc.

Tom Epperson at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf held “Brewfinder: Photography Enthusiasm Over Coffee by CBTL,” the first of its Taste Series Activities — pocket events set to complement the taste of avid coffee and tea drinkers by presenting them with avenues to celebrate a wide range of disciplines that match their lifestyles.

In Brewfinder, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf invited noted photographer Tom Epperson to showcase a set of six limited- edition photographs entitled “Smoke.”

Epperson, the first Manila-based photographer to get invited to showcase his work at the Chelsea Gallery in New York, explained the idea behind using a serendipitous medium for his masterpiece.

“What makes these photographs unique is because it captures a fleeting moment, it only last for a split second and it’s gone, it no longer exist,” shares Epperson, when asked about what it was like working with chemically-produced smoke. ““When I am shooting things of this nature what I am trying to achieve is to get the viewer engaged with the image. I like to show them something in a way they have never seen it before.”

Aside from highlighting Epperson’s artistry, the event also served as a venue to showcase CBTL — the brand’s single-serve system that allows households across the metro to indulge in gourmet cups of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s signature blends.

“CBTL is born of our customers’ desire to savor the same flavor, taste and consistency that our store-purchased drinks offer, right at the comfort of their own homes,” shares Walden Chu, president of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf-Philippines. “An innovation that came from a partnership between The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and the Italian legacy brand Caffitaly, CBTL offers versatility in creating café-quality coffee and tea blends — from the basic espresso, americano, macchiato and cappuccino, as well as the hot vanilla, chocolate and flavored coffee and tea options that they have come to know and love from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.”
