If you could have someone else’s face, whose would it be?

WORDS WORTH - Mons Romulo -
There are times in our lives when we are not too happy with the way we look. Sometimes we wish we could have a nicer body or maybe even a better-looking face. There are days when we look in the mirror and wish we had a better chiseled nose, nicer shaped eyes, fuller lips or even more shiny hair. Today with modern medicine, changing our looks is so much easier. There are computers that can show us what we will look like once plastic surgery on our face is done. But the question remains: Will changing our looks really make us happier?

For this week, we decided to ask a few personalities: If it were possible who would they like to look like? Here’s what they had to say.

ABEL NOLASCO, executive assistant manager for food and beverage, Hyatt Regency Manila
: I would like to change my eyes because they look smaller than the eyes of my wife Maritina (in photo) sometimes. I would like to have Robert Downey Jr.’s eyes because my wife likes them.

VIVIEN TAN, Neutrogena model:
It’s kinda tough to decide. I’m kinda happy being myself but if I could have someone else’s face I would like to have the face of Linda Evangelista. She has flawless skin and is a timeless beauty. There are a lot of models but sometimes they only last a month. But not Linda Evangelista, even if she’s older she still looks beautiful.

CHIKIE SAMSON, events coordinator
: Angelina Jolie. I like her because she has a very nice face. Her features are very sharp.

VICKY TENSUAN, beauty editor, Mega Magazine
: I know I’ve always wanted to look like Neutrogena’s model Vivien Tan from the moment I saw her. I’ve always admired Eurasian features and Vivien’s beauty is so pristine, I wouldn’t want to change anything. Her face has so much character – it can be delicate from one angle, yet strong from another. She may seem aesthetically perfect, but what’s more important is that there’s also a quiet intelligence about her looks.

VICKI PEREZ DE TAGLE, Home CEO, Daily Work
: I want to be a better looking me – more disciplined, generous, tolerant and meek. I want that better looking me to be good in math, a whiz at reading maps while standing on a set of great legs, nice feet and with a flat tummy. Then that gorgeous me would be riding off into the sunset in a stunning white Humvee.

MICHAEL SALIENTES, creative director
: A combination of Jude Law, Montgomery Clift and Rodrigo Santoro all rolled into one! But I’m also happy being me.

GEM PADILLA, stylist/writer
: If I had to, I would pick Angelina Jolie’s face. I like her pouting lips and enticing eyes. She is the most sensual looking woman I have ever seen. She exudes danger and she has that devil-may-care attitude.

JOYCE ANTONIO RAMIREZ, executive editor, Lifestyle Asia Annual Traveler
: Helen of Troy, because nations fought over her, and her face launched a thousand ships.
