Roberto Coin opens in Rustan’s Cebu
Roberto Coin started his career as a hotel manager.Though successful in his own right, he decided to forego the hospitality business and pursue his dream and face a new and passionate adventure that dealt with art and fashion and the beautiful world of fine jewelry.
The Roberto Coin brand with whom it shares its name was born in 1996. His creativity took shape through the hands of the historical and most renowned Italian jewelry artisans, who brought Roberto Coin’s romantic and borderless imagination to life through their skills, telling his story through jewels that truly become works of art.
To the delight of the Cebuanos, Roberto Coin, the high-end Italian and internationally acclaimed jewelry brand, was officially launched in an exclusive cocktail event at the Rustan’s Silver Vault in Ayala Center Cebu.
The night was made even more glamorous with the presence of the brand’s creator, Roberto Coin himself, who flew in from Italy to personally introduce the brand to the Cebuanos. Also gracing the launch were some of Rustan Commercial Corporation executives including member of the board, Maritess Tantoco-Enriquez, and marketing communications manager, Dina Arroyo-Tantoco.
The event featured Roberto Coin’s newest collection, the Tanaquilla collection, which was inspired by the legendary Estruscan queen Tanaquil of the 600 BC, who is a historical icon of emancipation and freedom. She is believed to be the first woman in history to wear jewelry as a fashion statement. The pieces in the Tanquilla collection include rings, cuffs, earrings, and choker necklaces set in yellow gold with danburite and brown diamonds.
Roberto Coin signs each one of his pieces with a small ruby cast inside the jewel, in direct contact with the skin of who wears it. This magical signature, surrounded by an antique halo of legend, represents the message of good wishes that Roberto Coin dedicates to his passionate clientele.
