Bonsai seminar set

Manila, Philippines -  Bonsai, the art of dwarfing plants, is now one of the prestigious arts in gardening throughout the world not only as hobby but as a business as well. Bonsai guru Serapion S. Metilla will be conducting a three-day seminar/workshop on basic bonsai culture on July 13 to 15 at Metts Plant Arts Shop, King Louis Garden Center, Manila Seedling Bank, corner EDSA and Quezon Avenue, Quezon City every from 1 to 6 p.m. All materials will be provided, including a bonsai pot, potential bonsai plant material, bonsai wires, potting medium, scissors, moss and strings among others. Handouts, snacks and certificate will also be provided.

Topics to be discussed will be on identification and sourcing of materials, styles, techniques of wiring or shaping, gathering of materials according to DENR requirements, techniques of propagation, care and maintenance.
