Stem cell facelift spares the knife

-

MANILA, Philippines - It may not offer the solution to eternal youth, but stem cell could herald an era of non-surgical cosmetic treatments. Dr. Pierre R. Clero is the pioneer of this technique that he practices in Beverly Hills, California, Las Vegas, and Dubai. His clients include movie stars with impressive results.

Dr. Clero is the president of the International College of Bio-Cosmetic Surgery and the Asian Academy of Age Management and Regenerative Medicine. He is an international board certified cosmetic surgeon and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Instead of cutting and stretching the skin, the new treatment takes fat and regenerative stem cells from the flabby parts of the body and injects them to fill out the patient’s face. The simple procedure can be carried out under local anesthesia and takes around two hours.

According to Dr. Clero, the treatment not only makes the woman look younger by adding volume to her face, it also repairs and rejuvenates the skin for up to five years.

Clero Clinic Philippines charges US$4,000 for the treatment, thanks to Faith Clero, wife of Dr. Clero. Dr. Clero charges US$15,000 in his clinics in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Dubai.

Stem cells can be found in fat and can recognize damaged tissue and repair it. They rejuvenate the skin by building new natural collagen and elastin (the fibers that hold the skin). They have already been used to replace faulty heart tissue and restore sight in damaged eyes.

In the stem cell facelift procedure, fat is extracted and processed, ready for injection into the patient’s face. Says Dr. Clero, “Because the fat contains stem cells, it triggers blood vessels, collagen and elastin growth.”

He adds, “Traditional facelift does not add volume to the face or change the tone of the skin. In the stem cell facelift, the volume and structure of the face are restored to a younger balance.”

One movie star patient of Dr. Clero, a 58-year-old mother of two, regularly underwent botox. But she said, “I never wanted a traditional facelift as I think it could change my face.”

She had her stem cell facelift last November. She said, “My skin is plumper and more radiant now, and it will keep on improving over the next six to nine months. The fine lines have disappeared, but the best thing is that the fat had filled out my face, giving me a juvenile look.”
