It’s summer 24/7 with Pan de Manila

This summer, you can’t go wrong with pandesal — it’s well-loved, affordable, versatile, easy to carry, and with Pan de Manila’s outlets located on the country’s highways this summer, it can spice up any road trip.

The bakery chain that brought back the traditional way of baking pandesal is making sure motor travelers, especially this summer, can enjoy its products by staying open 24/7. And now a Pan de Manila branch is baking at SM Baguio, giving locals and tourists a taste of the best pugon-baked pandesal in the country.

Located along major highways, Pan de Manila is a hassle-free experience for those who want to grab a bag of pandesal on their way to the provinces. Outlets include Osmeña, South Super Highway; Mindanao Ave; Balintawak before exiting to NLEX; Northwalk Shell Station in Pampanga after the San Fernando exit; PTT Station along MacArthur Highway in San Fernando; and Coastal Road in Bacoor, Cavite; and the latest in Ali Mall, just across from the major bus terminal in Cubao.

Wherever you go this summer, a Pan de Manila outlet is ready to serve warm, freshly-baked breads for the whole family to savor on the road or enjoy in a picnic. For the young ones who prefer to partner the pandesal with spreads or palaman, Pan de Manila offers Spanish sardines that come in tomato, spicy and mild corn oil, and extra-virgin olive oil. There’s even tawilis Spanish-style sardines — a perfect partner to the pandesal.

Ooh-la-lamb at Santi’s

There is a stewing love affair between Australian lamb and Filipino diners, if one is to judge by an increasing demand for the meat on store shelves as well as its growing popularity in dining establishments.

Australian lamb is a protein-dense food packed full of essential nutrients for vitality. All lamb products from Australia are raised on lush green pastureland. The sweet and mild taste is a result of Australia’s clean, pure environment.

Among foodies, spotting lamb lovers isn’t difficult. Aside from the fact that they cannot get enough of the tasty meat, they are sure to have developed a fine-tuned sense of how to eat it best, and even wax nostalgic over the experience.

Santi’s Delicatessen and Meat and Livestock Australia are inviting lamb lovers to share their fancy for Australian lamb in a letter-writing promo, dubbed “What’s Your Lamb Story?”

Ongoing until April 30, the promotion is open to all customers of Santi’s Delicatessen, Café Silang, Carpaccio Ristorante Italiano, Chesa Bianca Swiss Restaurant, and I’m Angus Steakhouse. To join, simply write a letter addressed to “Mr. Santi’s” about how a lamb dish has made their restaurant or home dining experience more memorable. The letter must be written on special “What’s Your Lamb Story” stationery, available at all their delis and restaurants, where drop boxes are also located. Each entry should have the customer’s name, address, e-mail, contact number and signature.

The top three letter writers will receive P3,000 worth of Gift Certificates from Café Silang, Carpaccio Ristorante Italiano, Chesa Bianca Swiss Restaurant or I’m Angus Steakhouse.
