SkyCable subscriber experiences F1 live in Singapore
MANILA, Philippines - When Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull-Renault crossed the finish line first to bag the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix last Sept. 23, he was not the only happy person that day.
A Filipina who was lucky enough to headline SkyCable’s Experience F1 promo for their regional subscribers was also there to witness the heated action under the Singapore skyline.
Maria Dana Lou Aguilar, a SkyCable subscriber from Bacolod City, was able to experience firsthand how it feels to watch the world-renowned Formula 1 at its venue in the Singapore leg – after she received the privilege from her friend, Joyce Quimanhan, who originally won the raffle draw.
“Thank you, SkyCable, for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Aguilar.
Aguilar’s trip and accommodations were fully covered by SkyCable, which also gave other subscribers from Iloilo, Bacolod, Laguna, Cavite, and Davao exciting prizes such as Star Sports jackets and caps, and even a home entertainment package that included a 32-inch LCD TV and DVD player with surround sound. These prizes were raffled off in the monthly raffle draws last Aug. 8, Sept. 3 and in the grand draw last Sept. 5 at the company’s head office in Pasig City in the presence of a DTI representative.
“We certainly enjoyed the F1 Singapore Grand Prix, especially when our favorite, Lewis Hamilton, qualified first,” said Aguilar. “Many of the Filipinos in the crowd rooted for him.”
Aguilar’s Grand Prix experience was made even more special with three-day premier walkabout tickets that gave her access to a lot of areas in the track. She also got the chance to drive in the Formula 1 simulation race and a city tour of Singapore.
The F1 race was also seen live by local racing fanatics courtesy of Star Sports as part of SkyCable Silver, SkyCable Gold and a la carte via SkyCable Select.
