Gallery News: ‘To the Left of the Right?’ at UP Fine Arts Gallery

MANILA, Philippines - The UP College of Fine Arts holds its third “Left Wing-Right: Wing,” an exhibition of works by UP College of Fine Arts faculty, which is on view until Sept. 25 at the UP  Fine Arts Gallery, Diliman, QC.

The title of the show is a play at the college’s geographical allocation of its courses and departments.

Nestor O. Vinluan, the newly appointed Professor Emeritus and former dean of UP College of Fine Arts, curates the exhibit.

Aubrey Fajardo at Mendez Big and Small Gallery

“Lady by the Doorway” by Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo

‘Open Ends’ at Lopez Museum

Lopez Museum highlights a collection of rarely seen studies, sketches and unfinished paintings of Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo in “Open Ends,” which is currently on view at Lopez Museum and Library, ground floor, Benpres Bldg., Exchange Rd. cor. Meralco Ave., Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The show runs until Dec. 23.

These masterful renditions are complementedby those of Juan Luna, unfinished correspondences captured in Jose Rizal’s careful handwriting and by beautifully bound and printed novenas of prayer booklets. Select sculptural and mixed media installations by guest artists Ling Quisumbing Ramilo, Toym Imao and Riel Hilario complete this provocation.
