Face of Allure: Zeryl Mae Lim
MANILA, Philippines - If one’s love for one’s parents is the measurement of one’s character, then it’s safe to say that 22-year-old Zeryl Mae Lim is a good person. The 5’4” looker has only the nicest words for the most important people in her life. “My dad, engineer Oscar Lim, has always been my source of inspiration. He exemplifies the best image of a responsible parent through his perseverance to ensure that all his six kids will have a secure future,” she says. Zeryl is the third child. She adds that because of her father, an OFW working in Bahrain, she was inspired to invest in real estate properties. She continues, “My mom, engineer Marilou Lim, is the image of an ideal partner with her undying love, care and loyalty to my father.”
Zeryl has also learned the value of responsibility from her parents. Because she and her siblings live far from their parents, the half-Filipino, half-Chinese lass takes on the duty of taking care of her younger siblings. “I gladly do all the chores at home. I even drive them to school whenever my schedule permits me,” she shares. “My sisters mean the world to me and I would take a bullet for them any time.”
Zeryl graduated from Colegio de San Lorenzo in Quezon City with a Business Administration degree. Even if she describes herself as the regular girl in school, she’s always had big dreams, including becoming a business tycoon. That dream, however, is on hold for the moment as Zeryl is focused on pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. Discovered through the reality search Starstruck over GMA 7, Zeryl is now attending workshops to prepare her for upcoming projects in her home network.
Her interests range from business to films, from real estate to fashion. Zeryl also loves quality films and sensible conversations. Because she also dreams of an international career as a singer, she practices her vocal chords while she’s alone in the car, driving around town.
“I strongly believe that patience is a virtue. I can take on as many years of hardship if it means achieving something,” she concludes. — Jerni May H. Camposano
