Star Dream Girl: Mia Ayesa

-

MANILA, Philippines – Statuesque Mia Ayesa has an exciting list of things that arouses her interest — from dance to DJ duties, zodiac to zoology. A UP Fine Arts graduate, Mia did not confine her interests to just the world of art. Instead, she explored many others beyond that. “I’m a visual person more than anything else. What I learned in college is proving useful in practically every job I undertake,” enthuses the 22-year-old Mia, who shares that she started dancing ballet at the age of three. The 5’9” lovely lass also enjoys exhibiting her musical taste in a social scene. “DJ-ing is just fun and extra cash is always a good thing especially now in times of economic uncertainty. It’s my newfound sideline!”

Her two-year stint as a member of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines has proven to be such an amazing experience for Mia. “As a model, I try to make people want to buy something by showcasing it,” she says, adding, “As secretary of the organization, I try my best to weigh out the pros and cons of every decision and take action towards making it happen.”

Mia adds that the best thing about being a model is that she gets to meet new people all the time and learn constantly just by being exposed to different types of egos and personalities. “And farther down the road, having them pay attention to my opinion and having a say to certain things boost my confidence.” By being with other people, she also learns many things like choosing to become a vegan. Mia declares that she owes her trim and fit figure to her decision not to eat meat and performing some cardio routines she learned from her friends from Philippine Allstars. “I’m vegetarian. I even wanted to take a zoology course,” furthers Mia, who is equally fascinated by the Western belief in the zodiac and how it affects people’s personalities.

Mia, the daughter of businessman Marcelo and Ramona Ayesa, believes in treating everyone with respect. “Don’t step on anyone because the universe is vengeful,” she says matter-of-factly. “Competition is a thing of the past. We should grow into working with each other for a common goal rather than against each other.” — Jerni May H. Camposano
