MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Renato Villa has arrived back in the country Wednesday evening exactly a week after he was declared persona non grata and expelled by Kuwait.

Philippine Embassy personnel had conducted "rescue" operations for distressed Filipino domestic helpers, a video of which was released to the public by the DFA.

Kuwait protested the incident saying that it violated diplomatic norms as well as their sovereignity.

Warrants of arrests were also issued against Philippine Embassy personnel.

Philippine government officials apologized personally to the Kuwaiti ambassador.
