The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – A young woman was caught peddling drugs worth P634,000 in Davao City, home province of President Duterte, who is waging a war on drugs.

Known among her neighbors in Barangay 76-A as “Madam,” Shiela Marie Cuta, 33, continued selling drugs despite the ongoing campaign.

She was caught selling a heat-sealed plastic sachet of shabu to a police officer who posed as a buyer last Saturday night.

San Pedro Police Station chief Senior Insp. Ronald Lao said authorities seized from Cuta 16 pieces of medium sized heat-sealed sachets of shabu and three pieces of big heat-sealed sachets with a total street value of P634,000.

Marked money consisting of three P1,000 bills used in the operation and other drug paraphernalia were also recovered from Cuta.

Meanwhile in Pampanga, a Chinese-American was arrested at the Clark International Airport around 11 p.m. Sunday after two kilos of cocaine were found in his luggage.

The Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Force said Alan So Hoo had flown in on Emirates Airlines flight EK338 from Dubai through Cebu to Clark.

The packs of cocaine were discovered in a hidden compartment of his luggage. – With Ding Cervantes
