PAGASA says Tropical Storm Queenie moves westward over the Philippine Sea East of Mindanao.

Based on its 5 a.m. bulletin, the center of Queeni was spotted 430 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Moving westward at 20 kilometers per hour, it has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Tropical Storm Queenie continues to accelerate as it moves west southwestward while maintaining its strength, the 5pm bulletin of state weather bureau PAGASA reads.

Quennie was laset seen at 695 km of east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or 755 km east of Davao City.

“By Wednesday afternoon, this storm will begin to move generally northwestward towards Caraga-Eastern Visayas area,” PAGASA adds.

Tropical Depression Queenie, 17th tropical cyclone to enter the country in 2022, has intensified into tropical storm category, PAGASA reports Monday morning.

Queenie was last seen oat 815 km east of northeastern Mindanao.

No tropical cyclone wind signal is currently hoisted over the country due to Queenie.
