Vice Ganda reacts to Joey de Leon's remark on ABS-CBN
MANILA, Philippines — Vice Ganda responded to the issue regarding Joey de Leon's viral joke about ABS-CBN.
During an interview with members of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) last night, April 27, Vice was asked about the said issue.
“E, siyempre, hindi natin masasaklawan ang komedyante. Hindi rin natin masasaklawan ang reaksiyon ng mga taong makakarinig ng joke," he said.
“So, that’s life, 'di ba? E, komedyante si Sir Joey, nag-joke siya. E, trabaho niya 'yun. Nagdyo-joke siya,” he added.
In an episode of “Eat Bulaga” on TV5, the veteran host and comedian made a joke about ABS-CBN that angered some viewers.
This happened last April 23, when Mister Pampanga 2026 candidate RJ Perkins was a guest on its “The Age is Right” segment.
Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza were interviewing RJ, which went viral on social media when he appeared in the swimwear competition.
Joey then interrupted saying: “Saka hindi na uso 'yung abs. Wala na nga 'yung abs, e.”
When his co-hosts said he was referring to someone else, the veteran comedian said: “Ay, ABS-CBN pala 'yun, sorry, sorry.”
Fans of the network have been criticizing Joey, calling him insensitive.
