MANILA, Philippines — Disney released its first official image teaser of "Disenchanted," the long-awaited sequel to the 2007 hit fairytale movie starring Amy Adams.

On its Twitter page, Disney unveiled a still photo teaser of Giselle, played by Amy, alongside Maya Rudolph who according to the entertainment giant will play a "new adversary" to the princess of Andalasia.

The official Twitter post also confirmed that the movie will be released on Thanksgiving Day in the US on Disney+ streaming app.

The first movie also famously starred Patrick Dempsey, Susan Sarandon, James Marsden and Idina Menzel.

"Enchanted" was hugely successful when it came out, with a plot that is a humorous take on the concept of "Happily Ever After."

Giselle is a kindhearted young woman who falls in love with Prince Edward (James Marsden). But Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon), his evil mother, intervenes by pushing Giselle into a portal leading to the modern world of New York City. Giselle has to navigate the real world with the help of a jaded divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) and his daughter. Magical creatures from Andalasia are set to either save or stop her from getting back to her home, or getting her true love's kiss.

Meanwhile, according to the sypnosis of the film's sequel," “Disenchanted features the much-anticipated return of Giselle, the princess from the fairy tale world of Andalasia banished to Manhattan who found her real Princess Charming in divorce lawyer Robert Philip. 15 years later, Giselle moves to the suburb of Monroeville with Robert and their teenage daughter Morgan, where she must juggle the challenges that come with a new home and discover what happily ever after truly means to her and her new family.”

In March of this year, fans got an unofficial glimpse into the "Enchanted" sequel when Patrick and Amy were photographed filming scenes in North London. With the movie's release on Thanksgiving Day, Disney fans and movie buffs alike are set to enjoy another magical ride with Giselle and her family.

Adam Shankman, who directed 2007 musical hit "Hairspray," will be at the helm of "Disenchanted", with Barry Josephson, Amy Adams and Barry Sonnenfeld producing.
