MANILA, Philippines — Who among the celebrities are likely to win the senatorial race next year?

According to the latest March 2018 nationwide survey of Pulse Asia Research Inc., the following multimedia personalities have a high chance of becoming the Philippines’ next batch of senators.

  • TV and radio host Erwin Tulfo – got 36.7 percent of votes from respondents – ranked 7-13 in the survey
  • “Ang Probinsyano” star Lito Lapid –– 33.8 percent votes – ranked 8-15
  • Politician and former actor Jinggoy Estrada – 32.8 percent – ranked 8-15
  • Politician and former TV host Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino – 30.5 percent – ranked 10-19
  • Actor and TV host Robin Padilla – 26.2 percent – ranked 14-19
  • Former comedian Herbert “Bistek” Bautista – 26.2 percent – ranked 14-19
  • TV and radio host Ted Failon – 25.6 percent – ranked 14-19
  • Actor Dingdong Dantes – 16.8 percent – ranked 20-25
  • Regina “Gina” Lopez of ABS-CBN – 14 percent – ranked 20-27
  • Actor Isko Moreno Domagoso – 13.9 percent – ranked 20-27
  • Chief Public Attorney of the Philippines and former TV host Persida Acosta – 12.8 percent – ranked 22-27
  • Politician and former actress Lucy Torres-Gomez – 8.1 percent – ranked 27-37
  • Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary, former actress and performer Esther Margaux “Mocha” Uson – 1.3 percent – ranked 40-56

Pulse Asia said the survey fieldwork was conducted from March 23 to 28, 2018, using face-to-face interviews.

Respondents were asked the question: “If the 2019 elections will be held today, who among the following personalities would you vote? You can choose up to 12 names.”

“As in our previous Ulat ng Bayan surveys, this nationwide survey is based on a sample of 1,200 representative adults 18 years old and above. It has a ± 3% error margin at the 95% confidence level.  Subnational estimates for each of the geographic areas covered in the survey (i.e., Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao) have a ± 6% error margin, also at 95% confidence level,” Pulse Asia’s press statement added.
