A Cruz in 2014 Miss World-Phl tilt

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The coronation night of 2014 Miss World Philippines Pageant tomorrow (Oct. 12) at the SM MOA Arena (to be aired on GMA’s Sunday Night Box Office). Aside from Eat, Bulaga! segment host Valerie Weigmann, Geneva Cruz’s (far right) younger sister, Eliza Johanna Cruz (inset), is also competing.

A pageant neophyte, she took the road that her former relatives avoided — beauty pageants! Geneva’s younger sister has what it takes to win a pageant. With more polishing, she can be a gem!

Pageant aficionados have been waiting for a long time for a “Cruz” to venture into the pageant world. I remember back during my college days, Sheryl Cruz was being asked to join the biggest pageant in the land!

Donna Cruz became an instant name among pageant fans after her “Flores de Mayo” stint at the Manila Hotel! She was radiant in a Filipiniana outfit at the end of the procession.

Sunshine Cruz would have been “it” had she joined. All three ladies never joined any pageant to the dismay of their loyal fans.

Meanwhile, you can now help your favorite candidates land straight into the Top 12 through the official text voting hosted by Sun Cellular, a sponsor of the pageant.

The official text voting is open to Sun Postpaid and Sun Prepaid subscribers. To vote, simply text SUNMWP(space) (Designated Name of Candidate) and send to 2222. You will receive a free notification with every successful vote.

Each vote costs P2, and only votes sent using regular load (not through unlimited load promo or buckets) are valid. There is no limit to the number of votes per SIM. — FELIX MANUEL
