Enjoy watching newest TV series, films in a ‘Blink’

Joyce Jimenez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — TV series and movies are just two forms of entertainment that everyone enjoys. Yet there will be times where one will miss his favorite series, or would prefer to wait for months for the release of a film, watch it in the comforts of their home than catch it in cinemas.

What if you can watch that TV series again and again, and you'll get to watch a new film a month after it hit the cinemas, all through your gadgets?

Solar Entertainment, one of the major networks and movie distributor today, has seen how people's lifestyle changed to day which was brought about by the advancement of technology. This lead them to launch a video-on-demand service, Blink.

"Blink is Solar's way of delivering contents to your personal devices," said Mr. William Tieng, President of Solar Entertainment and OMNI Digital Media Ventures.

"Today, we're moving one step further, we're ready to deliver top movies and television shows directly to your phones, your laptops and your tablets."

There are a number of things you could do in this streaming site. One of these is the "Free TV Live" where you get to watch in your device what is airing on their  channels: ETC, Jack City, 2nd Avenue, Basketball TV, and  Home Shopping Network.

TV series marathons won't be a problem as well as the service also offers the first to current season of the television series airing in their channels.

Movie aficionados will also find Blink helpful with its catalog of old and new film releases to choose from. New films are available one month after its showing date--two months earlier than waiting for its DVD release.

"Blink is not here to change media. Blink was built to compliment the on how we enjoy entertainment today," said Mr. Ronan de Guzman, COO of Solar Entertainment.

"Blink acknowledges the lifestyle of entertainment that we demand today. Blink looks through the windows of entertainment opportunity, given the demands of ever evolving online and mobile culture.

Gain access to different TV series and films by creating an account in blink-now.com, then choose which film or TV series you would like to watch, pay through credit card, Smart and Sun load, or through Globe GCash, and lastly is to download the Blink app to your device.

These services could be enjoyed through the help of their partners. One is Samsung, which makes sure the features of the site will work in different devices from laptops, to tablets and cellphones, up to syncing it to a Smart TV.

Through a tie-up with Smart, Smart and Sun subscribers get to enjoy all these privileges by paying certain fees.

For the films, subscribers will pay P60 for catalog movie titles and P99 for new film release titles.  Films will be in their library for seven days, and will expire in 48-hours after they started viewing it.

While for the TV series, subscribers need to pay P250 a month for unlimited viewing for 30 days.
