Boy Abunda overjoyed by Kris Aquino’s showbiz comeback
MANILA, Philippines — Boy Abunda could not hide his happiness and excitement over the long-awaited return of his close friend, Kris Aquino, to the screen.
Boy said he was grateful and proud to see the Queen of All Media once again doing what she loves after taking a lengthy break from showbiz to focus on her health.
In a recent episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the award-winning TV host and talent manager expressed his support for Kris' latest project, a promotional campaign for Netflix Philippines that has since gotten people talking.
“Ang aking kaibigan Kris Aquino is back on screen. Nagbalik-trabaho si Kris para sa isang promotional campaign for Netflix. Napanood na natin ’to, yung hindi pa nakakapanood, hanapin niyo po,” Boy said.
“Ito ang kanyang first project mula nang nagpahinga siya from showbiz para magpagamot sa kanyang autoimmune diseases. It’s great to see Kris doing what she loves the most. Proud of you, Krissy, at maraming, maraming salamat,” he added.
Kris and Boy have shared a long history both on and off screen. The two previously co-hosted several popular programs, including “Aquino & Abunda Tonight,” “Boy & Kris,” “The Buzz,” and “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon.”
Kris recently made headlines anew following the release of Netflix Philippines’ promotional videos featuring her as the Chief Head of Insight and Content Analysis, or C.H.I.K.A.
The campaign marked a much-talked-about return to the screen for Kris, who stepped away from the entertainment industry to undergo treatment for her autoimmune diseases.
For Boy, seeing his longtime friend back in front of the camera was more than just a showbiz comeback — it was a welcome sight for someone who has known Kris both as a colleague and as a dear friend.
“It’s great to see Kris doing what she loves the most,” Boy said.
