Sony Ericsson's Christmas in 3D promo showcases new 3D camera technology

-

MANILA, Philippines - Sony Ericsson has introduced 3D Sweep Panorama camera technology in its new line of Xperia Android handsets.

The recently launched Xperia ray and Xperia active are the first handsets in the Philippines featuring 3D Sweep Panorama technology from Sony Cyber-shot. These Xperia handsets and more are the highlights of Sony Ericsson’s Christmas in 3D promo.

The technology allows users to take multi-angle images to enjoy 3D-like pictures on these Xperia smartphones. Unlike other 3D still cameras that need two lenses, the 3D Sweep Panorama technology achieves the same effect with a single lens. The fully three-dimensional, panoramic image can also be enjoyed on a compatible 3D TV.

To best experience Sony Cyber-shot 3D camera technology, Sony Ericsson has launched the Christmas in 3D promo. Buyers of Sony Ericsson handsets from concept shops and participating dealers until Dec. 31 have a chance to win over P1 million worth of prizes in three Sony 3D showcases.

Buyers get a number of raffle tickets depending on their purchased handset model. Purchase of the Xperia arc, Xperia ray, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo V, Xperia pro and Xperia arc S entitles the buyer to as much as three raffle tickets.

Each Sony 3D showcase to be won includes a Sony PlayStation 3, 1.2-m Full HD 3D Sony Bravia LCD TV, four Sony 3D glasses, P25,000 worth of Sony 3D Blu-ray and Sony PlayStation titles, and a Sony Ericsson Xperia arc smartphone.

3D Sweep Panorama will also be available in current Xperia handset models such as Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro and the Xperia arc via a software upgrade and in models such as Xperia neo V, Xperia pro and Xperia arc S.

“We believe in bringing the most entertaining user experience to consumers and this 3D camera technology offered on the new Xperia smartphones is a wonderfully entertaining feature. Capturing panoramic 3D images this holiday season will be a new way of making things more memorable for our consumers,” said Dennis Manzano, Sony Ericsson general manager.

Other award-winning Sony technologies featured in Xperia smartphones are the Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine and Sony Exmor-R sensor for mobile.

The Mobile BRAVIA Engine brings infinitely sharper, more vivid pictures to the phone’s display, similar to Sony’s world-class BRAVIA line. The Exmor-R sensor, featured in Sony Cyber-shots and Handycams, lets users shoot bright stills and videos even in low-light conditions.

For better audio, the new line of Xperia smartphones offer Sony’s xLOUD audio technology which enhances and improves volume in the loudspeaker during playback.

For consumers to experience more, Sony Ericsson has also launched its 3D Expo in SM Cyberzones. Visitors are treated to Xperia product demonstrations, mobile games, the 3D imaging and viewing experience and the sound technology of Sony xLOUD audio.

The Sony Ericsson 3D Expo goes to SM Marikina on Dec. 9-11 and then moves to other SM Cyberzones across the country.
