Brittany’s Monday mountain getaway

-
To most people, Mondays mean cutting a wonderful weekend short, getting stuck in dreadful traffic and more work piling up on their desk. No wonder we can’t wait until the work stops and the weekend begins. It’s a time to get together with family and friends. To let our hair down, hang out and chill. Or to go out of town, unwind and lose ourselves in stress-free bliss.

Maverick property developer Brittany Corp. indulges its lady media friends on an extended weekend treat by turning a drab Monday into a splendid holiday. All it took was lots of fresh Tagaytay mountain air, fun driving, fine coffees and fabulous pampering at Monday in the Mountains: The CrossWinds Leisure Drive with Volvo and Figaro.

Last Nov. 14, the group convened at the Volvo Makati showroom along Pasong Tamo Extension for a light breakfast and briefing. Soon, the all-women media contingent were given their respective car assignments to either ride or drive Volvo’s fine steed of S40, S60, S60 T5 and S80 cars. Once everybody was buckled up, each car sprang into life and nimbly made its way to the South Luzon Express Way en route to Tagaytay.

On the wheels of mobile luxury, the participants were guided by a map that charts all the places they will visit and the activities they will do. First stop was Figaro Tagaytay. There, they had a date with Chit Juan, CEO of Figaro Coffee, Inc. for a delightful lesson on coffee appreciation and Figaro’s signature breakfast. Next stop was shopping for organic produce also at Figaro Tagaytay’s quaint and cozy coffee shop. On display were some organic produce that they can enjoy on the road or have as pasalubong for friends and family.

After shopping for garden-fresh grub, the gang took off on their Volvos and headed up to CrossWinds, Brittany’s breathtaking Swiss-inspired development. Nestled in the mountains among thousands of pine trees, CrossWinds harkens an idyllic lifestyle where couples, families and even business colleagues can come to relax, reflect and rejuvenate from the stresses of urban living.

Cool and calming pine-scented breeze often finds its way in this tranquil haven 2,500 feet above sea level. Couple that with great housing developments like Swiss-themed duettos, quadrilles and soon a towering Grand Quartier and you’ve got a serene Alpine vacation that’s just a drive away.

Nova Noval, Brittany Corp. head for Corporate Communications, was on hand to give the media a grand tour of scenic CrossWinds vicinity and model homes. They got to visit the quadrilles’ charming living spaces adorned with Swiss accents like overhanging eaves, wood patterns, and wide balconies all set against a lush green fairytale-like landscape.

Other design details were employed to ensure an inviting and comfortable atmosphere including a steeply-pitched gable roof with varying roof lines. The dark-stained wood trims provide contrast to the stucco walls in varying colors to brighten the rooms. French windows with planter boxes ensure that the house is flooded with sunshine and fresh air. The ceramic tiles and natural stone on the porch and balcony with stained wood finish and hand-carved patterns on the railing complete the look.

CrossWinds property previews may be arranged by calling 850-6986, 850-2868 and 850-3359, or visit www.brittany.com.ph.
