Mahindra supports PNP bikers

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – First, basketball. Now, cycling.

Mahindra’s foray in local sports development recently received a big boost with its involvement with biking aficionados and enthusiasts from among the members of the Philippine National Police from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.

Asianbrands Motors Corporation, exclusive distributor of Mahindra vehicles in the Philippines, provided Mahindra-branded bike uniforms to the Southern Luzon PNP biking contingent headed by Police Superintendent Jerome Jalabuena.

Superintendent Jalabuena, on receiving the Mahindra-branded uniforms, expressed gratitude for Mahindra’s participation and willingness to support his biking GROUP, now numbering more than 150 members, who were drawn from local police units from Southern Luzon.

The PNP South Luzon biking group was founded in May 2015 principally as an outreach program of the local police units. It does community relations work using their bicycles as a medium for establishing friendships and in building relationships. The group initiates public cleanliness and tree-planting campaigns and, along with the Philippine National Red Cross, participates in blood-letting and various relief programs.

Believing that cycling fosters strong camaraderie while helping build a sound mind in a sound body, the biking group goes on their weekly outings on Tuesdays and Thursdays in and around Camp Vicente Lim in Laguna where the group is principally based.

Mahindra is the manufacturer and provider of the Enforcer patrol units that the local PNP has deployed to help secure peace and order in the local communities, but also to support in disaster and relief operations. The Enforcer is currently the No. 1 light commercial vehicle in India. It is also the staple not only of the Indian military and security forces but also of other country’s military forces which have found in the Enforcer the toughness, ruggedness and dependability best suited to secure their borders and maintain homeland peace and order.
