The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The 2013 Isuzu Truck Fest is set to provide the public unique transportation solutions during its staging from June 20 to 22 at Le Pavillon, Metrobank Avenue, Pasay City. To be featured in the show are Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s (IPC) lineup of trucks that have been fitted with various body configurations, highlighting their potential in numerous business and service applications.

Scheduled to take the spotlight at the show is the launch of the new Isuzu Forward FRR and FVM medium-duty trucks, which are expected to bolster IPC’s leadership in this segment.

The Forward FRR is powered by a 4HK1-TCS 5.2-liter, turbocharged, intercooled, Euro II-compliant diesel engine with common rail direct injection fuel system. It delivers a maximum power of 210ps @ 2,600rpm and a maximum torque of 637Nm @ 1,600rpm and is mated to a six-speed transmission. The FRR has a gross vehicle weight of 10,600 kilograms and a payload capacity of 7,450 kilograms.

A much larger vehicle, the Forward FVM is powered by a 6HK1-TCN 7.8-liter, six-cylinder, turbocharged, intercooled, Euro II-compliant diesel engine that is combined with a six-speed transmission. With common rail direct injection, it delivers a maximum power of 240ps @ 2,400rpm and a maximum torque of 706Nm @ 1,450rpm. The FVM has a gross vehicle weight of 25,000 kilograms and a payload capacity of 18,380 kilograms.

Both the Forward FRR and FVM are backed by a two-year or 50,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first.

Along with these two new models, IPC’s heavy-duty and bestselling light-duty trucks, which have led the segment since 1999, will also be arrayed at the show’s spacious display floors. The trucks will be showcased in a variety of body applications such as an aluminum van, boom crane, cargo dropside, articulated crane with dropside, fuel tanker, mobile testing van, aerial platform, cargo crane, rivet-less aluminum van with power tail lift, and wing van.

The trucks will also be displayed in their cab and chassis form. A bus chassis and a tractor head will sit alongside them.

Another highlight at IPC’s Truck Fest are the various seminars designed for the show’s visitors. These include a presentation on Conversion Safety Tips concerning Truck Body Applications, talks on Philippine Road Regulations and Restrictions governing trucks, and a discussion on Direct Injection Diesel Technology.

There will also be a special offer customers who will purchase any truck variant from June 20 to July 31,  free LTO registration and P20,000 worth of Caltex fuel cards.

This edition of the Isuzu Truck Fest will also see the launch of a partnership between IPC and Orix Rental Corporation. A subsidiary of Orix Metro Leasing and Finance Corp., the company has been providing customers around the Philippines rental cars that are delivered right at their doorsteps. ORC delivers the vehicles at any time customers prefer.

Through ORC, IPC will start offering Full Service Operation Leasing for its highly dependable and durable truck lineup, which includes the Isuzu NHR and NKR with aluminum vans and dropside bodies. The leasing program will allow customers to address their daily business needs just as conveniently as when they purchase an Isuzu truck. The benefits offered by the program are no downpayment fees, worry-free maintenance, 24/7 customer service, real-time GPS tracking, three-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty coverage, and professional fleet management.

IPC’s other partners will also be present at the show. Among them are Almazora, Centro, Pinnacle, and Transbilt, which build trucks’ bodies for Isuzu, and bank partners RCBC and BPI.
