DigiPlus replacing Bloomberry in PSEi

MANILA, Philippines — Digital entertainment company DigiPlus Interactive Corp. of tycoon Eusebio Tanco is replacing Bloomberry Resorts Corp. billionaire Enrique Razon Jr. in the 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi).
The change comes following the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) announcement of the results of the regular review of the indexes covering trading activity from July 2024 to June 2025.
The PSE said the review of the composition of the indexes was based on the Policy on Index Management.
China Bank Capital Corp. managing director Juan Paolo Colet said the decision to include DigiPlus in the PSEi ensures index policy predictability and stability.
“This finally puts to rest the intense speculation on whether the country’s largest online gaming company would be added to the benchmark index. There was a lot of talk that DigiPlus would not make it, but ultimately the PSE rightly decided to keep to the letter of its index rules since it was clear that DigiPlus met the requirements as of the last review period,” Colet said.
The PSEi is currently the main index of the PSE. It is composed of the 30 largest and most active common stocks listed at the exchange.
By gauging changes in the stock prices of select listed companies, the PSEi provides a snapshot of the market’s overall condition.
A listed firm must be among the top companies in terms of liquidity and market capitalization to qualify for inclusion. Relevant financial criteria are likewise considered by the PSE in evaluating the index composition.
For the PSE dividend yield index, Lucio Co’s The Keepers Holdings Inc. and Puregold Price Club Inc. will replace Figaro Culinary Group Inc. and Universal Robina Corp.
Asia United Bank Corp., Bloomberry and OceanaGold (Philippines) Inc., meanwhile, will be included in the PSE midcap index, while GMA Network Inc., Petron Corp. and DigiPlus will be removed.
The financials index will see the addition of National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines. No companies will be removed.
Likewise, Concepcion Industrial Corp., Citicore Renewable Energy Corp. and Vitarich Corp. will be added to the industrial index, replacing Basic Energy Corp., EEI Corp. and Max’s Group Inc.
Asian Terminals Inc. will enter the holding firms index, while Pacific Online Systems Corp. will exit the services Index.
For the mining and oil index, additions include Lepanto Consolidated Mining Co. and OceanaGold (Philippines) Inc., with Benguet Corp. to be removed.
The PSE said that all changes to the PSE Indexes will take effect on Aug. 18.
