Villar’s PAVI Green bags Naga project

MANILA, Philippines — PAVI Green Renewable Energy Inc. of the Villar Group has bagged a solar power plant project in Naga, which will allow the company to energize the Luzon grid through renewable energy.

PAVI Green said it has secured a mandate from the Department of Energy (DOE) to contribute to the country’s renewable energy capacity after being declared as the winning bidder for the 40.4-megawatt Naga solar power plant project.

The company said its participation in the first round of the DOE’s Green Energy Auction Program is in support the government’s goal of attaining energy security through renewable energy.

According to PAVI Green, the Naga solar power plant project can potentially energize at least 15,000 homes per year once implemented.

More importantly, the project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 144,680 tons of carbon dioxide.

PAVI Green is a subsidiary of Prime Asset Ventures Inc., the holding company founded by Paolo Villar.

It is one of the newest players in the renewable energy industry to have been granted entry into capacitating requirements for the Luzon grid.

“This is a significant development for PAVI Green and we are proud to contribute to this initiative,” PAVI Green chief operating officer Robert Pereja said.

“Our vision is to bring sustainable renewable energy into homes across the country today and in the future,” he said.

PAVI Green is set to complete this year its 20-MW solar power facility in Bataan.

Targeted for completion next year is its 36 MW solar power facility in San Vicente.

Aside from these large-scale power plant projects, PAVI Green’s renewable energy initiatives also include energizing various malls across the country.

The company to date has successfully completed rooftop solar projects supplying clean energy to five Vista Mall branches in Isabela, Nueva Ecija, Iloilo, Bacolod and Butuan.

It is also set to extend these projects to cover eight additional Vista Malls this year.
