The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Learn how Fortune 500 companies revolutionized their marketing operations through the use of neuroscience at this year’s National Retail Conference and Stores Asia Expo (NRCE) at the SMX Convention Center - Manila on Aug. 15 and 16.

NRCE 2019 overall chairman Frederick Go said they have invited US-certified neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) practitioner Ben Ampil to speak at this year’s edition of the largest and most important retail event in the country.

NLP is now widely used in various fields, from personal development to corporate operations. It has become an integral management tool widely used by Fortune 500 companies and world-class celebrities and athletes.

Go, also the president of Robinsons Land, said Ampil will discuss the neuroscience of successful retail marketing.

The Filipino motivational speaker and seasoned executive has over 20 years experience in various cross-functional disciplines of general management, operations, corporate planning, sales and marketing, and business development.

“By including NLP in our NRCE 2019 topics, we are giving every Filipino retailer the opportunity to keep abreast of the advancements in retail marketing. While this would seem to be an abstract for most of us, a detailed discussion at the conference would surely drive the attendees to take the initial steps toward incorporating NLP in their sales and marketing,” Go said.

Other world-class speakers will be sharing their expertise at the conference, including technology evangelist Jesus Vega.

Vega will serve as the keynote speaker and will delve on best practices in people management and leadership. The Spain-based advisor and speaker has worked as managing director for Zara-Inditex, the biggest and fast-growing fashion retail group in the world.

During his time with Zara, Vega contributed to the clothing giant’s IPO and to the opening of thousands of new stores in various parts of the world. At Zara, he also helped launch new brands and formats including Oysho and Uterqüe.

Currently, he serves as a speaker for conferences in various parts of the world, sharing his insights and experiences on topics like Zara’s secrets to success, new way of entrepreneurship, and diversity in the company, among others. With over 50 speeches he gives every year, he is tagged as the most sought after  international speaker in Spain.

He is also the author of the book “The Sensual Company,” which talks about how companies like Zara and Google apply seduction as a business strategy for them to be desirable for investors, customers or employees. The book is translated to nine languages and is published in more than 20 countries.

NRCE is the biggest and the longest-running retail event in the country, organized by the Philippine Retailers Association. Platinum sponsors for this year include PLDT Enterprise, Globe Business and Wilcon Depot.
