PPP Center bags Agency of the Year award

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center has been recognized as the Agency of the Year of The Asset Magazine for 2015 for its implementation of the country’s much needed infrastructure projects.

In a statement, the PPP Center said it earned international recognition as The Asset’s Agency of the Year through its first Triple A Asia Infrastructure Awards 2015.

According to The Asset website “the awards honor the institutions and the deals in Asia that made a difference.”

The Asset recognized the PPP Center for advancing the implementation of the Philippines’ PPP program and projects.

The agency was also praised for facilitating the approval of several implementing agencies’ PPP projects last year and for awarding contracts to the private sector.

The award from The Asset Magazine is the third to be received by the PPP Center.

Last year, it was named the Gold Award winner for the Best Central Government PPP Promoter during the annual Partnerships Awards of the United Kingdom’s Partnerships Bulletin.

In March, the PPP Center was also declared the winner of IJ Global’s “Asia-Pacific Grantor of the Year” in Singapore.

Launched in 2010, the PPP program is being undertaken to get the private sector on board to accelerate the country’s infrastructure development and achieve sustained economic growth.

Through the PPP program, the government is coming up with projects that would attract investors to help address infrastructure needs, deliver public services and create more job opportunities.
