Zest Air inks partnership with AFP

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Zest Air, one of the country’s leading budget carriers, signed recently a partnership agreement with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, through its Office of the Special Service, which would give military personnel and their dependents as well as civilian employees of the AFP an opportunity to enjoy considerable airfare discounts from Zest Air especially during official military missions.

As part of the agreement, all military personnel will be given 10-percent discount in airfare cost to and from any local destinations being served by Zest Air. Their dependents, as well as civilian employees of the AFP, will get to enjoy five-percent discount to any domestic destination.

“This particular agreement is a big help to the AFP as it can help lessen the high cost of air travel for our military personnel. It can, at the same time, provide a big boost to the morale of our men knowing that their efforts in serving the country and our countrymen are being appreciated,” said Lt. Gen. Gregorio E. Macapagal, AFP TDCS, who delivered a speech on behalf of Gen. Jessie D. Dellosa, AFP Chief of Staff, during the signing ceremony held in Camp Aguinaldo.

“Even in our own little way, we at Zest Air are very pleased to extend support to the AFP,” said Mr. Alfredo Herrera, Zest Air’s chief for marketing and sales. “This particular effort is our way of showing our appreciation and gratitude for the key role that our men in uniform do, especially during times of calamity, like the recent Habagat that flooded the metro.”

Zest Air currently operates in 19 domestic destinations in the Philippines including Boracay via Kalibo, Bacolod, Busuanga, Bohol, Cagayan de Oro, Calbayog, Catarman, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Marinduque, Masbate, Manila, Puerto Princesa, San Jose Mindoro, Tablas, Tacloban, Virac and 5 regional destinations (International), Incheon and Pusan, Korea, Taiwan, Shanghai, China from Kalibo and Cebu, and Quanzhou Jinjiang from Manila.
