FortuneCare bares key appointments

MANILA, Philippines - Fortune Medicare Inc., or FortuneCare, a managed care organization (MCO), has announced the e-lection of J. Antonio A. Cabangon Jr. as chairman of its board of directors during its recent special stockholders and board of directors’ meeting.

During the same meeting, Dr. Ramon L. Sin was elected vice chairman and Dorothea J. Sibal president of FortuneCare, a pioneer and leader in the health maintenance organization, or HMO, industry.

FortuneCare was founded in 1985 by Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua, its chairman emeritus. It is part of the Fortune Insurance Group coalition that also includes Fortune Life Insurance Co. and Fortune General Insurance Corp.

Sibal, worked in the insurance industry for almost four decades, serving 18 years in the Insurance Commission and 20 years in the Fortune Insurance Group.

In 2003, she was assigned in FortuneCare as executive assistant to the president and later on as executive vice president and general manager, her previous post before being elected president.

New board chairman Cabangon said with Sibal at the helm of company operations, FortuneCare’s main thrust will be raising service delivery standards and re-defining the new brand for the company.

He expressed confidence that her hands-on management style will ensure FortuneCare’s continuing success as an HMO industry leader in the coming years.
