Life is from the inside out

A SPIRITED SOUL - Jeannie E. Javelosa - The Philippine Star
Life is from the inside out

It’s been happening many times over…I am walking and suddenly, my heart overflows with this loving feeling — yeah, that’s what it is — this energy of love and gratefulness that brings a smile to my face. It begins somewhere deep inside my heart and radiates, tingles through my body moving outwardly in all directions. Suddenly, my heart wants to shout out “ I love you!” to the world, to every leaf on that specific tree, every pebble on the walkway, every thing I see, traffic included. It includes each person I see on the street begging, running to work, all that is called life. It’s falling in love with the world over and over again, from a deep abiding space of peace and contentment. Cheesy? Not really. What’s happening is the fruits of interior work, or meditation and prayer making themselves felt in the energetic centers of the body, and an expanded awareness of consciousness with all that is. In that very moment, all things are sacred. In that very moment, everything is divine. And heaven on earth is truly present.

Flighty stuff? No actually. Scientific. When we understand that the world mirrors what we think, feel and experience inside, we would be able to capture our power to create the exterior reality. The world of quantum physics today shows how we can actually “control” the energies or vibrational fields around us. This “loving feeling” is about raising our vibrational energies, something which all spiritual traditions, masters, gurus and even Christ who walked the earth were trying to teach us. Jesus was committed in his whole being to the true spiritual awakening of everyone He touched and taught in a deeply personal way. By his being, everyone around Him aspired to be better, more loving beyond their own little selves. This is the higher frequency we must aspire for. It’s about ditching all the hatred, fears, negative energies that lodged in our petty egos, and breaking free from all of them, express this unique energy we call “Love.” This may also means dismantling the armors of the heart so we can live vibrantly in the here and now.

This continues to be the message all spiritual paths and disciplines bring our attention to. And it is something that even hard-core religious practitioners must understand: that the prayers we do, the sacrifices we make are all to move us into higher states of consciousness, in fields of vibrations that move faster and are finer.

This expansion to the higher vibration allows us to touch Spirit — the God-force and God-energy — which permeates all of the Universe. God after all is everywhere and is in everything and everyone. The challenge of our life today is how do we operate from a field of Conscious Spirit — to hold everything in Love. To be Love. Sages of old knew this timeless characteristic is filled with perennial wisdom, that deep abiding peaceful space that represents eternal truths of our souls united with spirit, beyond all religions. Spiritual scientists today call it the unifying field of consciousness that creates order in our world.

Many studies in consciousness show that when human consciousness becomes “one” or coherent, the behaviors and realities of certain systems in our world change. When people are synchronized, they create a new emerging “noosphere.” The term noosphere was introduced by the scientist-mystic Pierre Teilhard de Chardin in 1922 to define a new field that was emerging because of evolution, or the continuous growth of complexity. So, beyond the geosphere (or inanimate matter) to the biosphere (or biological life), thought and consciousness would also emerge as it is happening now. There is a global thought process we can tap into through a physical representation of the “one mind” online global world supported by the internet.

In the west, there is a project called The Global Consciousness Project, which is an international, multidisciplinary collaboration of scientists and engineers.  They collect data continuously from a global network of physical random number generators located in up to 70 host sites around the world at any given time. The data are transmitted to a central archive, which now contains more than 15 years of random data in parallel sequences that are synchronized and generate readings every second. What is emerging is a study showing subtle correlations that reflect the presence and activity of consciousness in the world. They see this in results of major global events that link people’s minds and hearts. If though creates reality, then all these negative thoughts we have been carrying have made our world today, just as larger group consciousness can affect the physical world.

The real effects of consciousness is powerful. They encourage us to make essential, healthy changes to the systems that dominate our world today. Knowing this, we can work toward a brighter, more conscious future.

So, let’s go myopic in our own lives. When we start loving ourselves, so many things begin to shift and change...magic happens, synchronistic things happen to move towards what we believe in and we emanate positive energy that expands and raises our vibrations. Even online in this “global-mind” space, there is a proliferation of positive collective endeavors for advocacies that hope to change to existing systems that don’t seem to work.

Only when we work our inner space can we change our outside world. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see…” So, be the positive person from inside to expressions outside to be able to help change the world we are now in. We each have this power. And I maintain that sitting in silence daily, in prayer, in meditation to go beyond the mind is the practice we all must take on with a fervor. Why? Because the world is in a topsy-turvy mess. The world outside is negative and dirty, and taking the words from a Christian perspective — the “devil literally walks the earth right now.”

Life is from the inside out. Even as we experience the outside world, as we move through it, it is about our interior space projecting itself. Inner changes also equate our outer actions, and impact the world we live in. So, our inner space is just as important as the work we do outside, the jobs we have, the images we project and the goals we want to achieve in this life. Our peace, quiet, contentment, our happiness, the expressions of love we feel are the primary goals we need if we want to be warriors to make this world a better place.
