Love slammed clumsily into me one windy day in January, pushing me down onto the floor, a confusion of limbs, books and packages. She tried to avoid the wind chill by rushing into the bookstore, where I stood at the door, bracing myself for a walk outside. Fate sent two lives on a direct collision course. And while her face was flushed pink with the cold and embarrassment, my heart, on this chilly winter day, felt warm.
