US Alumni golf tees off Friday at Wack Wack

MANILA, Philippines — The second US Alumni Golf Open, where alumni from the various universities in the United States face off in a round of golf in the spirit of fellowship, will be staged Friday at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club. 

The five clubs organizing the event are the Columbia Alumni Association, Harvard Club of the Philippines, Northwestern-Kellogg School of Management Alumnae Association of the Philippines, the Penn-Wharton Alumni Association and Stanford Alumni Club.

“I’m looking forward to another fun face-off with alums from rival schools. This is a good venue for our alums to showcase their companies through sponsorships while raising funds for our respective club’s initiatives. Our club, for instance, recently set up a scholarship endowment for UP STEM students where we cover all the living expenses of students completing a degree related to Science, Technology, Engineering or Math over the course of their four-year college education,” said Duane Santos, president of Penn-Wharton Club from The University of Pennsylvania.

Registration starts at 6 a.m. and ceremonial tee-off begins at 7:30 a.m. Hole-in-one prizes include a business class ticket to any North American destination from Delta and a Ducati motorcycle.

Among the raffle prizes to be given away include a two-night stay at Amanpulo, Crowne Plaza Vientiane and Costa Pacifica Baler, Sharp HD TVs, Delta, The Ascott Hotel, Dusit Davao and Joy Bus vouchers, JBL and Alexa Echo devices, Callaway products, Sleepwell Melatonin capsules, Unioil and Facial Care gift certificates and more.

Participants will receive fabulous goody bags from Standard Insurance and EastWest Bank, Vitacoco water, NutriAsia juice packs, Gold Toe socks, Belo and Beech Hut skin care items and Fuwa Fuwa bread from Nippon Premium Bakery.
