MANILA, Philippines - San Sebastian College hopes to buck the absence of top gun Michael Calisaan and cash in on its homecourt edge as it hosts Jose Rizal U today in the NCAA on Tour at the SSC gym in Recoletos, Manila.

Calisaan was ejected in SSC’s 75-73 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College last Friday, resulting to an automatic one-game suspension he will serve in the Stags’ 4 p.m. duel with the Bombers.

Not only is Calisaan the SSC’s top scorer (16.5 points) but also a key rebound with a nine-carom norm in eight games which they split for a 4-4 card.

“The only way we can win without Michael (Calisaan) is for the rest to step up,” said San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya.

But the Bombers are raring to pounce on Calisaan’s absence and bank anew on their vaunted defense that has so far anchored their 4-3 start for a hold of solo fourth place.
