Plaza heads World Slasher Cup semifinal cast
MANILA, Philippines – Gov. Eddie Plaza hopes to sustain his winning ways as action in the World Slasher Cup-1 eight-cock international derby heats up with the staging of the semifinals today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Plaza’s entries won all but one of 14 fights in the first day of elims then went four-of-four in the final day of the three-day prelims for a 17-1 (win-loss) record. His two other unbeaten entries are EP RJM AA Oda IBA Platinum and SE Bukidnon EP RJM AA Platinum.
Others staying in the title hunt with two wins in the last elims day are Peping Ricafort/Mayor Glen Duarte (GE Country Road-II), Tady Palma (Tungkong Mangga), Rep. Meanwhile, the two-cock semis ends tomorrow with the third batch of entries clashing for the right to advance to the championship round. The four-cock finals is set Feb. 7.
