Big field expected in Stags Run
MANILA, Philippines - San Sebastian College-Recoletos caps its 74th founding anniversary celebration with a fund-raising run slated this Sunday with a huge field expected to participate at the Plaza Rajah Sulaiman in Baywalk, Roxas Blvd.
Started in 2011, the Stags Run is aimed at raising funds for the institution’s involvement in missionary work here and abroad with this year’s staging also focusing on generating funds that will allow the school to sustain its involvement in pastoral ministry and missionary work.
Events on tap are the 3K, 5K and 10K categories. For details, contact Analissa Tanquiling at 734-8931 to 39 (loc 174) or Joselito Gando at 998-4625.
Dubbed as “Takbo Para sa Misyon,” the inaugural Stags Run in 2011 raised funds to support the missionary work of the Order of Augustinian Recollects (OAR) in Sierra Leone, Africa, and in the Cascian Island in Palawan through media evangelization and educational apostolate. The OAR runs the SSC-R Manila.
The following year, the Stags run boosted the institution’s educational mission and different outreach programs during the “Takbo Para sa Edu-Misyon.” The “Takbo Para sa Bokasyon” and “Stags Charity Run” in the next two years generated funds for the support of vocations to the priestly and religious life.
The upcoming Stags Run will also be a showcase of SSC-R’s big 75th Foundation Anniversary.
