AMA shocks Ateneo in Seaoil-NBTC
MANILA, Philippines - AMA Computer University surprised fancied Ateneo and came away with a 73-63 victory yesterday to move a win away from winning the Seaoil-NBTC Jr Elite League at the Jacinto Tiu Gym in Xavier University.
Clint Escamis shot 17 points, Christian Tanedo made 15 markers while Lorenzo Buncayo added 14 points for AMA Computer University, which stunned Ateneo with balanced scoring in the opener of their best-of-three finals.
AMA Computer goes for a repeat and a sweep starting at 2 p.m. today.
The event, for grade school players 12-years-old-and-under, is organized and supervised by the National Basketball Training Center.
Other backers of the event are Seaoil and San Miguel Corp.’s Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdog, Star Margarine and Magnolia Spinner Ice Cream with Molten as the official ball.
Ateneo was led by Xavier Jorvina who hit 21 points for Ateneo which also drew 14 points from James Gotladera and 10 markers from Emilio Daez.
