Tuason Racing holds clinics at BRC

MANILA, Philippines - Tuason Racing School (TRS) stages the second of its series of racing clinics Aug. 21 at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

The clinic is part of its program for the development of  Philippine motorsports through the support of Ford, Castrol, Bridgestone, Coke Zero, Discovery Suite, OMP, Belo Men, Speedlab, Starbrightbodykits, Dupont, Aguila Auto Glass, Hafele, ROTA, Ultraracing, Gopro, Vwrap and C!Magazine.

The clinic offers basic, advance and lapping sessions for racing enthusiasts.

Students get the chance to maximize their full potentials in a controlled environment. The modules provide an avenue in inculcating responsibility in driving, safety, good sportsmanship and respect on the road.

The basic course focuses on the basic techniques and application, and orientation on the speed, the equipment and discipline needed in racing. It also includes threshold braking, downshifting, racing line and track lapping, familiarization of the track and practice sessions with and without instructors in the car.

The advanced course is for individuals seriously thinking of going into racing or seeking in-depth racing experience. The course consists of track lapping sessions; passing techniques and race start procedures.

Lapping sessions are the final step before joining the Ford Focus Cup or any other alternative race series. Drivers will get to push the car to its limits without any co-driver in the vehicle. This set of training laps around the circuit is timed and completed under TRS instructors’ watchful eyes. Vital feedback is given to the driver in order to make adjustments and bring the lap times down.
