Macapagal kumpiyansa sa Nov. 28 POC election

Kagaya ng mga kandidatong lumalaban sa eleksyon, kumpiyansa ang grupo ni presidential candidate Art Macapagal ng shooting association na sila ang mananalo sa darating na halalan ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

Hindi man ibinunyag kahapon, sinabi ni Tom Carrasco ng triathlon association, na hawak na nila ang sapat na numero para magtagumpay sa nasabing POC Elections na nakatakda sa Nobyembre 28 sa Alabang Golf and Country Club.

“We are optimistic that we will win,” sambit ng 59-anyos na si Carrasco, iuupo ni Macapagal bilang secretary-general sakaling talunin ang tropa ni incumbent president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco ng equestrian federation. “We cannot divulge the number now but we are very optimistic that we will win.”

Bukod kay Carrasco, ang iba pang nasa tiket ni Macapagal ay sina Robert Aventajado ng taekwondo (chairman), Abraham Tolentino ng chess (first vice president), Pablito Araneta ng football (second vice president), Romeo Ribano ng squash (treasurer), Judith Hakim ng traditional boat race (auditor) at mga board members na sina Claudio Altura ng sailing, Pedro Mendoza ng volleyball, Hector Navasero ng baseball at Jeffrey Tamayo ng soft tennis.

Nasa kampo ni Cojuangco sina Manny Lopez ng boxing (first vice president), Mario Tanchangco ng sepak takraw (second vice president), Julian Camacho ng wushu (treasurer), Tony Tamayo ng soft tennis (assistant treasurer) at Sultan Jamalul Kiram ng pen-cak silat (auditor) at sina board members Bert Lina ng cycling, Dave Carter ng judo, Dr. Leonora Brawner ng archery at Monica Hakim ng bodybuilding.
