DOH reports 183 HIV cases among migrant workers

MANILA, Philippines — At least 183 cases of human immunodeficiency virus or HIV infection involving migrant workers were reported from July to September, the Department of Health said.
According to the DOH, the number represents a one-percent increase in HIV diagnoses among migrant workers, compared to the same period last year.
Of the 183 cases, 168 were men and 15 were women, with most of them acquiring HIV through sexual contact.
Earlier, the DOH reported 5,583 new HIV cases during the third quarter.
