MANILA, Philippines — The license of a taxi driver who went viral on social media for overcharging a passenger at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) may be revoked.

The driver of the taxi (NIS-8163) was recorded on video charging the passenger P1,260 for a trip from NAIA Terminal 2 to Terminal 3.

Transport Secretary Vince Dizon ordered the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to go after abusive public utility vehicle drivers.

The LTFRB said the provisional authority of the taxi company involved in the incident expired in March last year.

The New NAIA Infra Corp. said the taxi is not among the accredited transport providers authorized to pick up passengers at the airport.
