MANILA, Philippines — At least 1,182 household-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Aklan “successfully graduated” from the 4Ps this month, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported yesterday.

“We would like to congratulate all our 4Ps graduates from the province of Aklan for their commitment to improve the lives of their family members and ensure that their children will have a good future,” DSWD Assistant Secretary and spokesman Romel Lopez said.

He said the “graduating” 4Ps beneficiaries have reached Level 3 or self-sufficiency status.

Lopez said these households were endorsed by the DSWD-Western Visayas office to their respective local government units as part of the aftercare program to ensure that they will not slide back to poverty.

The beneficiaries are part of the 1.2 billion households set to leave the program this year through the 4Ps Kilos-Unlad Framework.

The framework is a seven-year social case management strategy guiding the care of 4Ps family-beneficiaries toward improving their lives. It also signals their exit from the program, which provides an opportunity for other impoverished Filipino families to be included in the 4Ps.                                                             –
