Engineer shot dead in Ilocos Sur

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union, Philippines — An engineer was killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in San Juan, Ilocos Sur on Saturday night.

Ronald Pano, 50, was declared dead on arrival at the Metro Vigan Hospital in Vigan. He died from four gunshot wounds in the body.

Pano was in his car when two motorcycling-riding men waylaid him in Barangay Pandayan.
Responding police officers recovered bullet shells for a .45-caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
