Valenzuela to LTFRB: Explain PUV route change

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Valenzuela City government has asked the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to explain the changes it made to a public utility vehicle (PUV) route.

Mayor Wes Gatchalian said yesterday commuters protested the LTFRB’s announcement replacing Route 32, which is from the Valenzuela Gateway Complex to SM North EDSA, with Route 51, which is from VGC to Cubao using Congressional Avenue.

Gatchalian said he was not informed of the change and the LTFRB did not hold a public consultation with stakeholders.

He said PUVs, for the meantime, will not follow Route 51 in order to not inconvenience those commuting to and working in Quezon City, Monumento and Commonwealth Avenue who get off at SM North EDSA.

Gatchalian appealed to the LTFRB to approach him and discuss the route change.
