2 slain in Sibugay shootings
COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Two persons were killed while two others were wounded in separate gun attacks in Zamboanga Sibugay on Saturday.
Elmer Bravo Sr., 32, was killed in an ambush that occurred at around 5 p.m. in Barangay Aurora, Talusan town.
Bravo, his wife Jenilyn, 25, and their 12-year-old son Elmer Jr. were on their way home on a motorcycle when two motorcycle-riding men waylaid them along the road.
Bravo died at the scene, while Jenilyn and Elmer Jr. were taken to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.
Police have yet to determine the motive for the attack.
Two hours earlier, fish vendor Anecito Mallurca was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Barangay Don Andres in nearby Ipil town.
Mallurca was sitting in front of a public market when he was shot. He died at the scene from three gunshots to the head.
Probers are eyeing an old grudge as the motive for the killing.
